Birthday Fun

I was able to get an iPhone with my birthday money and I just set it up. I should be able to update here more often now.

We just started research week here, so I'd better get back to work. We're all doing very well here.

Family Time

We got a chance to stop at my brother's house on the way back from China before school started. We didn't get to stay long, but it's always great to see them and to catch up on what's going on in each others' lives. I thought you'd like this picture of Juliana snuggling with her cousin Jaden. They were quite the pair while we were there.

This is apparently what I look like much of the time. And even tonight when I was working on my memory work, I found myself in a similar pose. No wonder so many preachers are bald...

Getting Schooled

We're back in Lubbock again for another year here at S.I.B.I. It was really good to see so many of our friends here again today. It's also been good to get the kids back in their own beds and on a more regular schedule.

I'm ready to hit the books again. I actually missed being here.

White for the harvest

We've gotten the chance to see many different culturally relevant sites in Qingdao. We were able to visit a temple the other day and see some people participating in Buddhist rituals. It struck me how mankind struggles for purpose and meaning to life...and will find solace even in man-made answers. There are so many people here crying out for answers to these questions, and for love and peace in their lives. It seems clear to me that the field is white for the harvest, and that we should be asking, teaching, and sending workers to come help bring it in.

We are scheduled to return next week. We've enjoyed our time here, and it will be bittersweet to come back to Texas when it means leaving so many we've come to love.
